IKEA has launched BETTORP, an LED mobile lamp with a wireless charging base. The lamp's 11 x 3-in (~28 x 8 cm) base is mains powered, with three areas; two charging pads and a third space to position the light or hold small items such as headphones or jewellery. Using the charging pads, you can simultaneously charge two Qi-compatible devices at up to 5 W, such as the iPhone 8 or Samsung Galaxy S6 and newer models. LED lights next to each pad indicate whether or not your gadget is charging.

The 9-in (~23 cm) tall battery-powered light detaches from the base and is therefore portable. If you use rechargeable batteries, you can charge the gadget via the wireless charging pads. The warm white 2,700 K light has a maximum brightness of 150 lm, which you can dim to suit your needs across strong, medium and ambient modes. You can select the light setting via the lamp's only button, which doubles as a power switch.

IKEA claims that the LED bulb consumes 85% less energy and last 20 times longer than a traditional light bulb; the company suggests that the light would last for 20 years if used for 3 hours a day. You can now buy the IKEA BETTORP lamp for US$59.99. The device comes in a gray-blue color and contains at least 20% recycled ABS plastic.
