Apple AirPods have been confirmed to work on the Steam Deck. Despite being designed for Apple products, the pods work just fine on Steam's handheld device.

According to the story by Distractify, due to the global shortage and increased demand for gaming consoles, a lot of buyers that have been waiting for the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S have been struggling to get their hands on the console.

Those who have pre-ordered the Steam Deck, however, are slowly starting to receive their handheld devices. For those that have lucked out on Sony's and Microsoft's latest consoles, the Steam Deck has been an alternative that some gamers have decided to choose.

For gamers that have been able to get their hands on the Steam Deck, however, the handheld console has received a lot of positive feedback except for the fact that its battery life might not be satisfactory to some gamers.

Other professionals, however, didn't find the console too thrilling. An article by the New York Times even said that the handheld device "lacks the polish and practicality of mainstream gaming devices."

The article by Distractify notes that there aren't a lot of certified accessories for the Steam Deck since Valve has been concentrating its efforts on the console itself. Since the handheld device itself already costs a significant amount, gamers want to make use of other equipment they might already have to improve their gaming experience.

An example of equipment lying around that might be usable for the handheld console include the Apple AirPods. The AirPods were designed with BlueTooth capability which makes it an awesome headphone option no matter what device you are using.

There have reportedly been players that have found ways to connect the AirPods to the Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Lately, players were able to discover that the AirPods can be connected to the Steam Deck.

Unfortunately, despite the AirPods being connected to the Steam Deck, it is important to note that the microphone still does not work. This means that those using the AirPods will be able to get audio input from the game but not be able to communicate with friends and other players within the game.

A tweet by Steam Deck Gaming shared how the noise cancellation feature of the Air Pods Pro resulted in bliss when playing the Steam Deck. In order to connect the AirPods to the Steam Deck, users will only need to follow a few simple steps.

STEP 1: Open the Steam Deck settings

STEP 2: Scroll down to Bluetooth

STEP 4: Once Bluetooth is on, open the AirPods lid but do not take them out of the case

STEP 5: Push and hold the setup button located at the back of the AirPods case until the light flashes white

STEP 6: AirPods are now paired and players can use it with their Steam Deck
